Richard Hinrichs Good bike stop on the way home from school. Jerry jesperson and I came flying down the hill on a double bike, couldn’t stop and ran into a highway patrol car parked in front of the store. We both went over the hood and put a dent in the front fender. Never ran so fast. Hooligans

LOL, for those not so old as these guys, the store they are talking about was at the intersection of Crescent and Glenwood. I swear the hill was bigger then than it is now. The store was a neighborhood convenience store. I remember buying penny candy there. Dots on wax paper and wax pop bottles were my favorite. The house is still there but now is someone’s home.

June Headley I used to walk there from out cabin (located next to Sheila & Jerry Kehler) and collect glass pop bottles (they would refund me money for the bottles) and find change along the road, got a bag full of penny candy.

Michael Ronayne Jana Harrer i was 4 or 5 i recall they were good for penny candy and cheap little toys like balsa wood planes and rolls of “caps” (you didn’t need a pistol if you had a brick)
