In 1918 the Farmers State Bank was one of the very early Big Lake banks. It’s building was formerly on Mainstreet (hwy25) to the right of the biggest brick building if you’re facing it.

Here’s a little fun fact that may be new to some of you. Did you know that the pillars of the former bank are still here with us? They are enclosing the back door of the telephone company building.

The check blank and the photo postcard of the Farmer’s bank are from Dorothy Moores’ Citizen State Bank memorabilia. I am amazed that the 100-year-old check blank is in pristine condition.
