The Citizen’s State Bank building. It began life as First National Bank built in 1913 – 1914. The bank was purchased in 1925 by Citizen’s State Bank. In 1974 Citizens State Bank built a new building across from today’s DQ, which is now being remodeled into a funeral home in 2018. The building sat empty for two years until it was donated to the Big Lake City. The City offices remained there until 1985 when the building, and the Soda Bar, Knowlton Realty, the library, Lake Drug AND of course the “billboard” were all removed.

Dorothy Moores and Barb Scottston provided the photos to share. Look closely and you will see interesting people and things in the backgrounds of the photos. Photos and newspaper clippings of the 1966 Robbery and construction photos of the new building coming next!
