Richard Hinrichs 1910 was significant time for elk river big lake and Becker and baileys station because steam trains had to pick up water every 5 miles. That’s why there was a mail stop water and coal station where each of these towns popped up. Would be interesting to see when the tracks went in

Stan Lumley IN THE 1950S A GUY CAME THROUGH BECKER WITH OXEN AND A RED RIVER OXEN CART. I AM SURE HE CAME THROUGH BIG LAKE ALSO DOES ANY ONE HAVE PICTURES OF THAT? I SAW IT IN PERSON IN BECKER.

Robert Swanson I zoomed in on the picture and I believe I can see traces of two parallel scrape marks left behind by a sharp object going from right to left eventually leading to a surface gouge the shape of a classic UFO in the photograph paper. My two cents.

Ruth Carlson The only thing unchanged, minus the canopies, are the brick buildings. Nothing else. I wonder what it will look like in another 100 years. There probably won’t have any of the old look left. Kind of sad.
